The Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons/Nikki Sixx thing has gone too far

Yep. I said it! To be honest, I think I’m echoing what many metal fans are saying lately.

For those who aren’t aware of the new beef between Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons… and now Nikki Sixx, it all started with Gene’s comments on Prince which, according to Newsweek were, “How pathetic that he killed himself. Don’t kid yourself, that’s what he did. Slowly, I’ll grant you… but that’s what drugs and alcohol is: a slow death.”

Paul Stanley quickly added to the conversation by tweeting…

So, in case anyone was wondering, we all know how Paul feels. He didn’t think Gene’s comments were appropriate.

Then Nikki Sixx enters the equation! Why? Who knows! But he had this to say about Gene’s Prince comments…

Please join me in a collective eye-roll. This is the moment where things have officially gone too far. As much as I love Nikki, this whole thing started as an issue between Gene and Paul. To be fair, they’ve even “agreed to disagree.” Paul recently stated on Twitter that, “Partners of 40 years says it all. Don’t confuse walking under the bus with being thrown under. My apology [on Gene’s behalf] was right.”

Paul further took the last word by saying to Nikki Sixx,

“Regardless of some things Gene Simmons has said that I may take issue with, his influence on musicians (you included) is undeniable and will continue.

More importantly, his work, generosity and monetary contributions to numerous causes and charities for those less fortunate makes your ongoing rant, in the scheme of things, the unimportant but annoying squeak it truly is.

Move on.”

And, finally, Nikki‘s response to that on Facebook was,

“Looks like good old Paul doesn’t like that someone called out his buddy Gene again…I will give him a standing ovation for calling out Gene himself publicly and then trying to hold my feet to the same fire but you can’t save him. If the press wants to run with a story they got legs and we all know they need fresh content.I have to admit calling the next Kiss album “Move On” would be a clever idea though…Love to the Starchild. ❤️

We all give to charities and support our troops etc because that the right thing to do with our success.Telling a depressed kid to kill themselves etc etc etc etc is not…So don’t confuse issues.”

Yikes! My head is spinning while tracking this whole scenario back and fourth. I’ve gotta say, if nothing else, this brought a lot attention to Sixx A.M. and KISS. Which side are you on? Or, are you over it too?
