Prophets Of Rage make their debut

With the blessing of Zach de la Rocha, the Prophets Of Rage made their debut in Los Angeles last night. Bassist Tim Commerford said,

“I spoke to Zack and got his blessing, and that’s really great,” revealed Commerford. “We’re a family and there’s support across the board. I support him and everything he does, and vice versa. I’ve definitely been keeping him in the know.”

…and with that! They were off! You may or may not remember that it was announced Chuck D. and B-Real (Cypress Hill) were fronting the new project. According to Blabbermouth.net, Prophets Of Rage had a varied set. Additionally, proceeds from the show went to charity – P.A.T.H. (People Assisting The Homeless).

“PROPHETS played songs from all three bands, including RAGE classics like “Testify”“Guerilla Radio” and “Bulls On Parade”, and PUBLIC ENEMY tracks “Miuzi Weighs A Ton” and “Prophets Of Rage”, from which the band gets its name. One of the band’s original songs is called “The Party Is Over” and was reportedly dedicated to controversial Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.”

If you’re asking yourself, why bring this supergroup out at all? Tom Morello has an answer, “Dangerous times do demand dangerous songs. This historical moment is really unprecedented. Both the country and the world are on the brink of the abyss. And we thought it was wholly irresponsible of us to be sitting on the sidelines . . . This is not just music, this is a movement.”

Check out some clips below! This is wicked good, and I can’t wait to see where Prophets Of Rage take this from here!
