Red Hot Chili Peppers find success with ‘The Getaway’

Around the world, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have found major success with their latest release The Getaway. According to Blabbermouth,

“RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS‘ eleventh studio album, “The Getaway”, has topped the red-hot-chili-peppers-the-getaway-ltdcharts around the world. The heralded studio effort from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees landed No. 2 on The Billboard Top 200, having shifted 118,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 23.  “The Getaway” debuted at No. 1 in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands and New Zealand, with No. 2 debuts in the United Kingdom and Germany.”

Personally, I love the new album! You’ll hear them take a jazzier turn with “Dark Necessities,” but the rest of the album isn’t quite the same. “Go Robot” is almost a nod to The Clash and 70’s punk era, while “Detroit” is a Pepper’s throwback that fans from the 90’s will love.

If you haven’t checked out The Getaway yet, get a taste by watching the video for “Dark Necessities,” which was directed by Olivia Wilde!

Yep! That Olivia Wilde. Enjoy! 😉
